THE PUSH GAMES COMPLETES THE WORLDS FIRST HEXATHLON OF ACTION SPORTS
On March 28th 2009, a group of hardcore athletes participated in the Push Games, Lost Energy Invitational, the world’s first multi-sport challenge involving six of the most popular action sports in a one day non-stop “Hexathlon” of actions sports. The event was designed to literally push athletes both mentally and physically from one event to another for 15 hours straight across 160 miles of Southern California’s most beautiful locations.
Title sponsor Lost Energy Drink lured professional and amateur athletes and a mix weekend warriors, all hoping to be crowned the worlds best crossover athlete.
The Push is a single day event that focuses on the top 6 core sports of the action sports world. This initial “Push Experience” will happen in some of the most beautiful locations in southern California. It’s a 166 mile 1 day trek that will take you to snow covered mountains, dirt trails, race tracks, sculpted cement, finishing in the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego.
The concept was devised by Bob Krause and his 18 year old son Ryan in April of 2007 after completing 23 action sports in one day, 15 hour father son bonding experience.
The Push kicked off on the slopes of Snow Valley at 8am and finished on the sandy beaches of Carlsbad California as the sun set around 7:30. Participants drove their own vehicles to each location as the production crew provided all the equipment and protective gear. Athletes built camaraderie along the way but came with their game faces on ready to win. They gave it 100% while trying to impress the judges through a series of adrenalin pumping timed runs and impressive freestyle showcases. Luckily no one was seriously
